Hooray: A Successful Auction

I am delighted to report that the WPIG event was a huge success. Thanks to all the hard work by this energetic group of young women, over $4,000 was raised to support our orphanage girls. All of this money will go directly into the Scholarship Fund which will then used to assist qualified girls to attend University and other venues for advanced education. Qualified girls receive a micro-loan to cover tuition and other direct expenses for their first semester of an approved study program. (The terms of the loan are no interest, no fixed repayment schedule, and a heart promise to pay back the money so the "next girl" can have a similar opportunity.) With a grade report of B or better, a girl is eligible to receive another loan for the next semester. Continued performance results in continued loans until graduation.

This July, we made the first four scholarship loans to four girls who are now attending local universities and studying English, Teaching, and Business.
